Business Development Director

DAI is seeking an Business Development Director to join our busy EC Framework Projects department. The position will be based in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Become part of the thriving DAI business, located in spacious, bespoke offices, 30 minutes out of Euston - with excellent rail and motorway links to London and region.

Main purpose of role: To provide strategic oversight of the relevant client market (DFID/EC/Frameworks) ensuring that DAI Europe profit and turnover targets are achieved through sound leadership, marketing and technical expertise. To maintain and enhance effective partnerships with the relevant client market and partner companies.

Masters Degree

Required Experience

Three to five years

Postgraduate degree in a relevant field
•Experience of working overseas, ideally in a development environment
•Commercially astute with demonstrable aptitude in client development and management
•Proven negotiation skills
•Solid understanding of proposal development process, project management systems and best practices
•Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
•Proactive, assertive and action-oriented with strong intellectual agility and ability
•Track record in managing teams to deliver goals and achieve targets
•Excellent interpersonal skills – able to establish and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally to achieve the goals of DAI Europe
•Able to be flexible, versatile and tolerant in a changing work environment whilst maintaining effectiveness
•Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
•Ability to communicate effectively in English and at least one other language
•Advanced level of MS Office
•Ability to travel internationally

The salary offered for the Business Development Director will be commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will work alongside colleagues in the DAI Europe offices in Apsley, Hertfordshire.
